PLACE OF BIRTH: ..., Trinidad EDUCATION: (later) CAREER:                                   Laro began singing in the late-1950s and later moved to Jamaica to join the West Indies Regiment which functioned from 1958 until the early 1960s when there was a West Indies Federation.
