Couva

Historically a sugar-cane growing area, Couva was developed around the railway line that was constructed to take cut sugar-cane from the community to the refinery mills.

Sports

Couva is the birthplace of Inshan Ali who went on to represent the West Indies in Test Cricket. Major sporting events are held at the Ato Boldon Stadium located on Rivulet Road.
