This band was founded in 1995 by Michael "Big Mike" Antoine and Ian McKenzie who set up their headquarters at 88 Roberts Street, Woodbrook, Port-of-Spain. Prior to this, they were both active in the Barbarossa band. Legends was very successful in the Medium Band category during its first three years of existence and, after moving up to large band category in 1998, won the Band-of-the-Year competition three times. However, the partnership between Antoine and McKenzie ended when Antoine formed his own band Legacy on May 11, 2004. McKenzie later teamed up with his brother Ricardo McKenzie to form the band MB (McKenzie Brothers) Fusion, while Antoine formed his own band, Big Mike & Friends.
