School, Port of Spain Progressive Educational Institute, Port of Spain Dartford College of Physical Education for Teachers, Kent, England (Diploma in Physical Education) St. Thomas University, Miami, Florida, USA (BA, Sports Administration, 1958; MS, Sports Administration/Management, 1990) CAREER:                                 Pierre was an outstanding netball player who played on the higly decorated 1979 T&T netball team that shared the World Championship with Australia and New Zealand. She later became a government sports minister in Trinidad from 1991 to 1995. In recognition of her contributions to netball in T&T, the Jean Pierre sports complex in Port-of-Spain was named after her. AWARDS: 1974 - Trinidad & Tobago Humming Bird Medal Gold (for Netball) 1979 - Trinidad & Tobago Trinity Cross (for Netball) 1979 - Trinidad & Tobago Chaconia Medal Gold DIED: December 2, 2002, after a long battle with colon cancer in the Cayman Islands where she was working as a coach.
