CAREER: Goodman left Trinidad for New York, USA, when she was eight years old. After graduating from City College in 1986, she embarked on an acting career. But it was as a comedian that she was able to gain wide recognition when she appeared in 1995 in her one-woman show "Hazelle!" on the American cable station Home Box Office (HBO). For her performance in the HBO special, she was nominated for two Cable Ace Awards: Best Comedy Special and Best Performer. She also made several appearances in the US television series "Homicide: Life on the Street," "Third Watch," and "Ed."
