    • CAREER:                                 Maharaj worked as a teacher and as a columnist for the Trinidad Guardian, before moving to Canada in the early-1990s. He settled in Ajax, Ontario, where he has taught high school since 1994. He has written the following books:

    • The Book of Ifs and Buts (2002)
