CAREER:                                 McWilliams formed his band in the 1956 and, in 1961, became the first bandleader to present a local theme at Carnival with "Hail La Trinity." Many of his 32 presentations were based on the history and culture of Trinidad and Tobago. Later, he was the first bandleader to use multiple mas camps for his presentations. He presentations won Band-of-the-Year title three times (1971, 1972, 1978), People's Choice Award five times (1971, 1972, 1977, 1978, 1980), and King of the Bands titles in 1965, 1968, 1969, and 1971.
