  • CAREER:                                 Telfer began his radio career in the 1950s as an announcer on Radio Trinidad's B station where he worked as an announcer, sportscaster, and sales executive. He was a founding member of the Dixieland Steelband in the 1950s and, was the first news anchor on Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT) when the station was launched in 1962. In 1963, he introduced a TTT program titled "The Lime" which featured the parang music and its history. For more than 40 years, was a stage announcer for Carnival events hosted by the Carnival Development Committee (CDC)/ National Carnival Commission (NCC), Pan Trinbago, and Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (TUCO). He was later responsibile for introducing the the annual Extempo Calypso Competition hosted by TUCO.
