  • CAREER:                                  As the musical director and arranger for the Renegades Steelband, Stewart has been influenced by Renegades' previous arranger, the late Jit Samaroo. In 1986, he won the Trinidad and Tobago 12 & Under Children’s Competition in his first performance and went on to win the Trinidad and Tobago Teen Talent Competition, the Tobago Music Festival, and the San Fernando Music Festival (1989-1991). He moved to Trinidad in 1992 and joined the Renegades Steelband. In 2000, he left Renegades and began arranging for the single-pan steelband, La Horquetta Pan Groove, and took them five Single Pan Panorama titles. He went on to arrange for Small Conventional steelbands including Meritones, Our Boys of Tobago, Valley Harps, and Solo Pan Knights.

                                                   In 2004, Stewart emerged as the first double champion arranger after winning in the Single Pan and Small Conventional Steelband categories with LH Pan Groove and Meritiones, respectively. Arranging for Pan Elders, Stewart took them to six consecutive victories in the Medium Conventional Steelband category from 2014 to 2019. He has arranged for steelbands iternationally in: Antigua; Grenada; St. Vincent; St. Lucia; New York, USA; Toronto, Canada; Germany; France; United Kingdom; Maldives; Japan; and Australia. As of 2023, Stewart remains the only arranger to win in all Steelband Panorama categories: Single Pan (LH Pan Groove, San Juan East Side); Small Steelbands (Meritones, Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force); Medium Steelbands (Pan Elders), and Large Conventional Steelbands (Renegades). In 2019, he won all three categories: Small, Medium, and Large with Defence Force, Pan Elders, and Renegades, respectively.
